Ian Wright

Ian Wright BVMS, MSc, MRCVS. Head of ESCCAP UK and Ireland

Ian is a practising Veterinary surgeon and co-owner of the Mount Veterinary Practice in Fleetwood. He has a Master’s degree in Veterinary Parasitology, is head of the European Scientific Counsel of Companion Animal Parasites (ESCCAP) UK & Ireland and guideline director for ESCCAP Europe. Ian is regularly published in peer review journals, an editorial board member for the Companion animal journal as well as peer reviewing for journals such as JSAP, Companion animal and Veterinary Parasitology. He continues to carry out research in practice including work on intestinal nematodes and tick borne diseases.

Dr Charlie Barton BVSc CertVOphthal MRCVS, Senior Technical Director & Co-founder of Virtual Recall

Charlie worked in clinical veterinary practice for 11 years before Co-founding Virtual Recall. During his time in practice, he became an advanced practitioner in Veterinary Ophthalmology and has vast experience across all angles of Veterinary Practice from rural mixed practice to referral medicine and surgery. He is Co-founder of Virtual Recall which provides iRecall® and OurVet.Shop™. iRecall® is the U.K.’s most successful client communication solution and operates in over 1,850 clinics across 3 continents. OurVet.Shop™ enables veterinary practices to provide their very own home delivery service to their clients. Virtual Recall was acquired by Zoetis in July 2020 and Charlie is now Senior Technical Director, leading Product Development and Operations. 
Jenny

Jenny Helm BVMS CertSAM DipECVIM-CA FHEA MRCVS. RCVS

Jenny graduated from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Glasgow in 2005; following this she undertook a small animal rotating internship at the Royal Veterinary College in London. She then spent a short spell in small animal practice before returning to Glasgow to undertake a residency in Oncology and Internal medicine. Jenny obtained her RCVS certificate in small animal medicine in 2008 and passed her ECVIM certifying examination and became a Diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Internal Medicine in September 2012. Jenny currently works at the University of Glasgow’s Small Animal Hospital as a Senior Clinician.
Prof Jill Maddison

Prof Jill Maddison BVSc, DipVetClinStud, PhD, FACVSc,SFHEA, MRCVS, Professor of General Practice, Royal Veterinary College

Jill is currently Professor of General Practice at the RVC and Director of Professional Development overseeing the college’s continuing education programmes. She is course director for the BVetMed and CertAVP programmes. She is actively involved in undergraduate teaching and continuing professional development (CPD) at the RVC in the areas of clinical reasoning in small animal medicine and clinical pharmacology. She is the senior editor of Small Animal Clinical Pharmacology, the 2nd edition of which was published by Elsevier in 2008. She is also senior editor of Clinical Reasoning in Small Animal Practice published by Wiley-Blackwell in April 2015. A 2nd edition is due to be published in 2022. To keep in touch with the realities of private general practice she regularly consults at the RVC’s first opinion practice, the Beaumont Sainsbury Animal Hospital.

Nathalie Dowgray BVSc, MRCVS, MANZCVS (feline), PGDiP IAWE, Head of ISFM

Nathalie graduated from Massey University, New Zealand in 2002. In 2012 she sat the Membership exams for the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists in Feline Medicine and is a RCVS advanced Practitioner in Feline Medicine. She received a post graduate diploma in international animal welfare ethics and law from Edinburgh University in 2016 and a PhD in the ageing of cats at the University of Liverpool in 2022. Nathalie’s areas of interest are all things feline including health screening, musculoskeletal disease and age-related disease. Nathalie joined iCatCare as Head of ISFM in August 2020.    
Edwina Gildea: Zoetis Companion Animal Veterinary Lead

Edwina Gildea MVB MRCVS Companion Animal Veterinary Lead, Zoetis UK Ltd

Edwina qualified as a Veterinary Surgeon in Dublin and has worked in both livestock and companion animal practice in both Ireland and Scotland. She joined Pfizer Animal Health in 2006 as an Area Veterinary Surgeon moving into the role of the National Veterinary Manager in 2014 following the spinoff of Pfizer Animal health to become Zoetis. In 2017 she took up the role of the UK lead for the Companion animal veterinary team. Throughout this period with PAH/Zoetis Edwina has been involved with R&D, marketing and technical teams at national and international level in bringing many innovative companion animal products to market.
Sophie Duguid BVMS MRCVS

Sophie Duguid BVMS MRCVS. Veterinary Consultant, Zoetis UK Ltd

Sophie obtained her Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine and Surgery from the University of Glasgow in 2007. Since graduation she has pursued a career in companion animal practice and has worked as a veterinary surgeon in a variety of settings, ranging from general first opinion practice to referral hospital work and subsequent emergency and critical care out of hours cover. Realising her passion for all things medicine brought Sophie to Zoetis UK Ltd in 2014 where she has further developed her interests, namely in the fields of internal as well as feline medicine, immunology and biochemistry. Sophie continues to work occasional weekends in first opinion practice as she lists the consult room as one of her favourite places.
Michelle Greaves

Michelle Greaves BVMS CertAVP(VD) MRCVS. Veterinary Consultant, Zoetis UK Ltd

After graduating from Glasgow University in 2007 Michelle worked in mixed practice in the North of Scotland before moving to a small animal practice in South Yorkshire where she spent 6 years, during this time she gained her RCVS certificate in veterinary dermatology. She moved into an industry veterinary role in 2015 and is enjoying working for Zoetis as a Zoetis Veterinary Consultant. Michelle is on the BVDSG committee as PR Secretary. She enjoys all things dermatology, but has a particular interest in atopic dermatitis, antimicrobial resistance, and the pharmacology of dermatological therapies.
Louise Longstaff

Louise graduated from Bristol University in 2009 and spent 5 years in companion animal practice where she developed a keen interest in feline medicine. In 2014, she started the Zoetis Feline Scholarship at Bristol University, working on various areas of feline research and publishing papers in the Journal of Feline Medicine and Surgery. In 2015 she began her post at Zoetis, where she continues to maintain her passion for increasing awareness and understanding of all aspects of feline medicine and infectious diseases
Jonny Lambert BVetMed MRCVS

Jonny Lambert BVetMed MRCVS National Veterinary Manager, Zoetis UK Ltd

Jonny graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in 1999 working in both general and latterly referral practice. He has subsequently worked in Industry for a number of years in a range of technical, business and leadership positions as well as different species areas including companion animals, equine and poultry. His clinical interests include dermatology, vaccinology internal medicine and antimicrobial stewardship. He is particularly passionate about creating new solutions and innovation in veterinary medicine. Jonny is the National Veterinary Manager-technical lead-for the UK Business for the Dermatology and Antibiotic portfolios. Outside of work he is frequently busy with his two children, football coaching and trail and fell running.

John Innes is a RCVS Specialist in small animal orthopaedics and was formerly professor of small animal surgery at University of Liverpool (2001-2013). He has published more than 90 peer-reviewed papers and several textbook chapters in the areas of osteoarthritis and orthopaedics. John was President of the European Society of Veterinary Orthopaedics (ESVOT) 2014-2016 and he was awarded Fellowship of RCVS in 2016 for ‘meritorious contributions to knowledge’. Professor Innes has recently been elected Chair of RCVS Fellowship Board. John has been Referrals Director for CVS since 2013 overseeing eight specialist-led hospitals.

Jamie is Co-founder of Virtual Recall which provides iRecall® and OurVet.Shop™. iRecall® is the U.K.’s most successful client communication solution and operates in over 1,850 clinics across 3 continents. Since Zoetis’ acquisition of Virtual Recall (July 2020), he was appointed Senior Commercial Director within Zoetis’ Digital Practice Services Business Unit. In addition, Jamie owns and runs a 145-year old family-owned multi-branch veterinary practice in Surrey. He has also had a 20 year career in media, appearing regularly as a vet on The Big Breakfast; Sky News and co-presented Pet Rescuers and Pet Rescue Roadshow. He regularly broadcasts around the country and is a regular speaker at UK veterinary business, technology and marketing seminars, conferences and events. Jamie is an active Trustee of the Petplan Charitable trust.

Professor Stuart Carmichael has a wide experience as a specialist clinician in orthopaedics and in veterinary business management. He is Diplomate, a past Specialist and current Fellow of the RCVS. He has been Director of both Queen Mother Hospital and Small Animal Hospital at Glasgow and Associate Dean for Clinical Services at Glasgow. He has also been National Referrals Director at Vets Now Ltd, a Director at Fitzpatrick Referrals Ltd. and is visiting Professor at University of Surrey. His charity duties have included acting as Board member and Chair of International Cat Care and he is a current Board member of Blue Cross. He is also currently running a Veterinary Professional Consultancy Business, Joint Adventures Ltd. He is also Director and Co-founder of Aim-OA Ltd., providing web-based Disease Management System for chronic osteoarthritis in dogs and the Veterinary Osteoarthritis Alliance, a not-for-profit group promoting better management of osteoarthritis in animals.

Filippo De Bellis DVM CertVD DipECVD MRCVS RCVS

Filippo graduated from University of Bari, Italy, in 2001. He moved to the UK in 2003 and worked for PDSA before joining RVC in 2006 as Resident in Veterinary Dermatology. He gained the RCVS Certificate in Veterinary Dermatology in 2009 and became a Diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Dermatology in 2010.
Filippo previously worked in several institutions, including the Animal Health Trust and RVC; currently he works in four referral centres in the south of England: Davies Veterinary Specialists, London Vets Specialists, Southern Counties Veterinary Specialists and Southfields Veterinary Specialists. He is also an Honorary Lecturer in Veterinary Dermatology, and Past President of the British Veterinary Dermatology Study Group.
